MARY S. FOSTER
Mass of Christian Burial was held today at St. Rose’s Church in Santa Rosa for Mary S. Foster of Santa Rosa, mother of Josephine S. Souza of San Rafael.
Mrs. Foster died in a Santa Rosa hospital after a short illness. She was 89.
She was born in Sebastopol, the daughter of John and Inez Rose, who settled there in 1870.
In addition to Mrs. Souza, Mrs. Foster is survived by another daughter, Marie Avila; two sons, John and Rolph Foster; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Burial was in the family plot in the Sebastopol cemetery.
