CHARLES D. ZELL

A memorial service for Charles Daniel Zell of Novato will be held Wednesday a 2 p.m. at the Church of the Redeemer, San Rafael.

Zell died Friday at a San Francisco hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 68.

Zell served 23 years in the Air Force, retiring with the rank of chief warrant officer. He had served in both World War II and the Korean War.

After his military retirement, Zell worked 13 years as civilian contracting officer at Hamilton Air Force Base.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Zell; two sons, Richard and Daniel Zell, all of Novato; and three grandchildren.

Inurnment will be private.
