STELLA A. POZNIAK
Stella A. Pozniak of Oroville, a former Marin resident whose daughter lives in Marin, died Sunday in an Oroville area hospital. She was 70.
Mrs. Pozniak was a native of Wisconsin, She moved to California about 21 years ago.
She lived in Oroville for the past eight years and previously lived in Fremont. She worked as a nursing assistant at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Livermore in the late 1960s.
She lived in Marin before living in Fremont. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Thomas Legion of Mary in Oroville.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria J. Del Santo of Fairfax, and Geraldine A. Christ of Fremont; a brother, Harold Powlicki of Wisconsin; five sisters, Martha Nickel of Vacaville, Phylis Finelli, Marjon Hribar, both of Wisconsin, and Eugenia Schulter, Helen Konley, both of Illinois; and six grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rita’s Church in Fairfax. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. The rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Chapel of the Hills mortuary in San Anselmo. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. at the mortuary.
The family prefers memorial gifts to St. Vincent’s School for Boys, P.O. Box M, Civic Center Branch, San Rafael or American Heart Association preferred.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the wife of the late Frank J. Pozniak. She was also the sister of the late Cecelia Ritter, and grandmother of Leo and Anthony Del Santo, Michael, Brian, Cindy Anne and Robert Christ. She was a native of Crivitz, Wisc.
