ROBERT W. NATHANSON
Attorney

A private service is planned for Robert W. Nathanson, an attorney who lived in San Rafael.

He died Jan. 15 at his home unexpectedly. He was 42.

He was born and raised on Long Island and moved to San Francisco in 1973 and then San Rafael in 1982.

Mr. Nathanson had his own practice in San Rafael, specializing in construction law.

He was active in the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

He also was a member of various professional organizations.

One of his hobbies was bird-watching and his favorite places for viewing birds were Tennessee Valley and Fort Cronkhite.

He is survived by three brothers, Ian Nathanson of Jacksonville, Fla., David Nathanson of Miami, Fla., and Brian Nathanson of Tacoma, Wash.
