DOROTHY G. McKAY
Novato resident

Dorothy G. McKay loved acting, singing and dancing. She died Feb. 25 at Pleasant Care Convalescent Hospital in Novato. She was 91.

She was born in London and after coming to the United States in 1928, lived in Upper Montclair, N.J. She was employed at various insurance companies. She eventually became the only woman underwriter in a staff of 50.

She was a member of the Montclair dramatic and operatic society.

Mrs. McKay also loved reading and belonged to a literary society in Montclair. She enjoyed travel, especially in Europe.

After the death of her husband, Harold McKay, she came to Novato to live near her sister. She became active at the Novato Senior Citizens Club, especially the bridge section. She also became a member of the choir at Novato Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Mahony of Novato; one brother, Stirling Gilchrist of Bristol, England, and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be March 9 at Valley Memorial Chapel of Novato.
