Frank Perkins Dies in Train-Auto Crash At Pastori Crossing

Frank T. Perkins, aged 70, of San Anselmo, a plumbing supply salesman, was instantly killed Monday forenoon, at Pastori’s station, when he drove his car upon the Northwestern Pacific tracks in front of a San Francisco bound interurban electric train.

The car was thrown about 160 feet along the track, and was partially burned.

The body was taken from the wreckage by a crew under the direction of Deputy Coroner Harry Williams, who said that Perkins without doubt died instantly following the crash.

Mr. Perkins was driving an old car, and is said to have been quite deaf, and did not heard (sic) the train whistle, or observe the wig-wag sign.

The body was taken to the Guy W. Jenness & Co. mortuary at San Anselmo, by request of the coroner, and the funeral service was held Wednesday from the Jenness chapel, with interment private.

Mr. Perkins leaves his wife, Hattie E. Perkins, a son, Frank B. Perkins, of San Francisco. He was a native of Newark, New Jersey, and had lived in San Anselmo for about 26 years. He has been employed for a number of years in plumbing shops in the county.
