ROBERT LEES
Retired surveyor
Robert “Wally” Wallace Lees of San Anselmo died Feb. 22, He was 86.
He was born in Emeryville and attended the University of California at Berkeley. He was a member of the Theta Psi fraternity.
He became a merchant mariner and joined the Navy, serving during World War II.
Mr. Lees was eventually employed by the United States Salvage Association and retired as a principal marine surveyor of West Coast operations.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Odegard of Washington and Walli Ahlstrom of Nevada; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
