Jay E. Schwarz
A funeral for Jay E. Schwarz of Tiburon will be held at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Hills of Eternity Cemetery Chapel in Colma. Mr. Schwarz, 48, died Saturday in a boating accident on San Francisco Bay.
Mr. Schwarz was born in Philadelphia and had lived in the Bay Area since 1965. He moved to Marin in 1966.
Mr. Schwarz earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburg, and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.
He had served in the Army Corps of Engineers and was a captain in the Army Reserve.
He was a marketing representative for IBM.
An avid sailor, Mr. Schwarz was a member of the Sausalito Yacht Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrye; a son, Brad, a senior at the University of California at Los Angeles; a daughter, Karyn of London, England, and his parents, John Edwin and Katherine H. Schwartz (sic) of Lake Havasu, Ariz.
His family asked that memorial contributions go to a favorite charity.
