DR. KINGSTON
Dr. John J. Kingston, former San Francisco coroner and father of John J. Kingston Jr. of San Rafael, died yesterday at his home in Woodside.
A native of San Francisco, he interrupted his career as a pediatrician to take the city’s post as coroner from 1940 to 1952, then returned to practice.
Dr. Kingston was with the pediatric teaching staff of the Stanford University Teaching School. He served in the Navy in World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Kingston of Woodside, his son, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Robbin of San Francisco and Mrs. Patricia Taplett of Arlington, Va., and a brother, Richard Kingston of San Francisco.
Private funeral will be held in Redwood City.
