Elizabeth Jewett

News of the death of Elizabeth Jewett, former Tamalpais High School teacher and a member of an early-day Sausalito family, has been received by friends in Marin.

Miss Jewett died Monday in Los Angeles, where she had lived for many years. She was 87.

Miss Jewett was born in San Francisco, but came to Sausalito with her parents, the late Charles and Catherine Jewett, when she was a baby.

She attended Tamalpais High School when the school was held in a tent. Later, she returned to Tam High as a teacher and taught in the commercial department for many years.

She left Tam High to teach at Huntington College in Boston.

Survivors include her brother, Arthur Jewett of Sausalito.
