JAMES WEST
James W. (Bill) West, of Tamalpais Valley, died yesterday at a local hospital after suffering a heart attack Sunday night.
A diesel engineer for 18 years on the state department of fish and game’s boat in Sausalito, the “Albacore,” he recently joined the Bureau of Mine’s Research Station in the old Tiburon net depot.
A native of Kansas, he and his wife, Hertha, lived for 18 years at 349 Jean Street.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Tennessee Valley.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mrs. Pearl West of Ione, Amador County, and a brother, Leonard West of Montana.
Funeral will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
Friends may call at Russell and Gooch Mortuary in Mill Valley.
His family asked that memorial contributions be made to Peach Lutheran Church.
