1 Dead, 6 Injured In Auto Accident
Machine Skids When Passing Another Auto and Throws Occupants Into Ditch

One death and the injury of six persons resulted Tuesday evening when a party of San Francisco people returning from a three weeks’ stay at Ukiah met with an automobile accident near the San Antonio bridge on the state highway.

Albert Fregosi, of 1437 Kearny street, member of the floral firm of Parodi & Gregosi, was killed. His wife, Mrs. Minnie Fregosi, sustained a fracture of the skull and the pelvis, which may prove fatal. Their two children, Leo, aged 15 months, and Archie, 5 years old, suffered severe cuts and bruises.

The others in the car were Severino Giampolini, Erminio Giampolini, his brother, Emma Giamoplini (sic), a cousin of the two men, and Domenico Paganini, were injured in minor ways.

The machine belonged to Severino Giampolini. Traveling at a good rate of speed, the machine left the bridge and turned out to pass another machine going in the same direction. The wheels struck the soft dirt at the side of the road and skidded. One of the front wheels came off and the car overturned, throwing the occupants out.

Another machine came along, picked up the dead man and the injured and took them to the Novato Sanatarium, where everything possible was done for them by Dr. J. H. Kuser and Dr. Joseph Anderson, who was summoned from Petaluma.

The names of the parties in the machine which Giampolini attempted to pass are unknown, but is conceded by the injured people that whoever they were, they were in no way to blame for the terrible accident which followed.

Severino Giampolini and his brother are members of the paint firm of Giampolini, Lombardi & Co. of 1418 Grant avenue. Paganini is a member of the wholesale cigar firm of Paganini-Bricca Company, of 513 Sansome street.
