DENTON S. DIXON
Retired prison officer
Denton S. Dixon of Sebastopol, a retired San Quentin State Prison correctional officer, died Monday, July 30, 1990, at Kaiser Hospital in San Rafael. He was 65.
Mr. Dixon was a native of Hawley, Texas.
He lived on the grounds at San Quentin during his 16 years at the prison. He retired in 1982.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Mary Dixon of Sebastopol; four daughters, Sharon Dixon and Katy Liner of Foster City, Patti Magee of San Diego and Beki Haley of Sebastopol; a son, Bob Dixon of Sebastopol; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mission San Rafael Arcangel. A vigil service will be today at 7:30 p.m. at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
His family prefers memorial contributions to cancer research.
