ROBERT J. MURPHY
Salesman
Funeral services will be tomorrow in Oakland for Robert J. Murphy of Mill Valley.
Mr. Murphy died Monday in San Francisco at age 62.
He was born in San Francisco. He went to high school in Oakland and graduated from Armstrong Business School in Berkeley, where he served as student body president.
Mr. Murphy was a salesman of office supplies for Eastman Corp. in San Francisco.
He was a sports fan. He enjoyed swimming and was a member of the International Club where he swam daily.
Mr. Murphy enjoyed weekend excursions with his wife, especially to the wine country.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Mill Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Murphy of Mill Valley, and a sister, Jean Emery of Oakland.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. today at Grant Miller Chapel, 2850 Telegraph Ave., Oakland.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Teresa Church, 30 Mandalay Road, Oakland. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in San Pablo.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Anthony’s Dining Room, 121 Golden Gate Ave., San Francisco 94102, or the American Heart Association.
