SALLY TRUBE
Antiques dealer

Sally Trube, former longtime San Anselmo antiques dealer, died Saturday, June 30, 1990, at a Kentfield convalescent hospital following a short illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Trube grew up in New York, where her mother operated an antiques shop. After coming to California in 1961, she became interested in American Indian artifacts and eventually became an authority in this field.

In 1964 she opened Sally’s Band Box in San Anselmo, specializing in Native American antiques.

She had studied architecture and decoration in New York and France and also had worked as a decorator. She taught art in New York schools as well as at Marin Country Day School.

Mrs. Trube is survived by her son, Merriam Trube of Colorado; her sister, Florence Youngberg; and three grandchildren.

The Neptune Society in San Rafael is handling arrangements.
