MERLAND STROUD
Merland D. Stroud Sr. died of a heart attack yesterday while visiting at the Lagunitas home of his son, Merland D. Stroud Jr. He was 68.
With Stroud, when he was stricken, was his wife, Madeline.
Stroud was a retired buyer and shoe department manager for Frederick and Nelson department store in Seattle. Since retiring two years ago, he and his wife and another son, Stephen Stroud, have lived in Laguna Hills, Los Angeles County.
He was born in Marble Rock, Iowa, but spent most of his life in the Seattle area.
Stroud is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gerry Hultman of Los Alamitos, Orange County; a sister, Mrs. Al Dragon of Stockton; two brothers, Ernest Stroud of Portland, Ore., and Harry Stroud of Seal Beach, Orange County, and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo. Interment will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery.
