ELIZABETH CARPENTER
Elizabeth A. Carpenter, a 20-year resident of Marin, died Feb. 10, 1989, at Hillhaven Convalescent Hospital in Mill Valley after an illness of five years. She was 85.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Illinois and grew up in Detroit. As a young adult, she came to California, living in San Francisco and Piedmont before moving to Tiburon in 1968.
Her husband, Thomas Earl Carpenter, died earlier. He was a survivor of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire who set up the first refugee station at one of the entrances to Golden Gate Park.
Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her daughter, Ann Carpenter Green of Tiburon.
