James L. Sweeny, Brother of Fairfax Postmaster, Dies
James L. Sweeny, a retired plasterer who made his home in Fairfax for the past 10 years, died suddenly yesterday in a San Francisco hospital after a brief illness.
Sweeny left San Francisco in1941 to make his home with his sister, Mrs. Thomas C. Jordan at 75 Sequoia road. Mrs. Jordan is postmaster at Fairfax.
In addition to Mrs. Jordan, Sweeny is survived by one brother, John Sweeny; four nephews, the Revs. John and Louis Sweeny, Richard Sweeny and Thomas Jordan; three nieces, Mrs. Catherine Knopf, Mrs. Mercedes Sullivan, and Patricia Jordan.
He was a member of Plasters' Union, Local No. 66.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. from Gantner, Felder, Kenny chapels in San Francisco followed by a requiem mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Brigid's church in San Francisco. Burial at Holy Cross cemetery.
