OLIVE SIMPSON
Mrs. Olive Simpson, wife of retired state superintendent of public instruction Roy E. Simpson, died yesterday in a Sacramento hospital. She was 70.
The Simpsons had been married for 45 years, since his appointment as principal of Anderson High School, Shasta County, in 1919. He was appointed to the state post in 1945 by Gov. Earl Warren and retired in 1962 after 17 years in office.
