MCKAY, Marion I. -- A 45 year resident of Palo Alto and Menlo Park died December 22nd. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1923. She owned and operated the McKay Boarding House at 633 Middlefield Rd, Palo Alto. For 13 1/2 years, she cooked breakfast and dinner six days a week for Stanford graduate students. After selling the boarding house, she became the administrative secretary at the Palo Alto Medical Research Foundation/Research Institute for 6 1/2 years. She was a recent student in the Palo Alto Adult Education Writer's Workshop, Barbara Noble, instructor. She was educated at Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri. She is survived by three children; including Lawrence Smith of Wisconsin, Rebecca Smith of Capitola, California and Richard McKay of Novato, California, seven grand children and five great-grand children. At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements by Byrgan & Company, Burlingame, CA.
