Contractor Bill Clute Dies At 55

Private funeral for Bill W. Clute, 55, of Belvedere will be held tomorrow in San Francisco.

Clute, who lived at 22 Windward Road, died Tuesday at Palm Springs hospital following a long illness.

A native of Ogden, Utah, he was a Marin County resident for 15 years and president of A. R. Reid Co., a world-wide highway and pipeline construction firm. He was also head of five other construction companies.

An avid sport fisherman, Clute was also active in chartable organizations, and was a charter member of the Associated General Contractors.

He is survived by his wife, Annabelle L. Clute of Belvedere; a son, William A. Clute of Tiburon; and two daughters, Robin L. Primavera of Denver and Joni S. Stroh of San Mateo.

Following cremation tomorrow, Clute’s ashes will be taken by boat and spread over the Pacific Ocean.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Marin County Heart Association, 1363 Lincoln Avenue, San Rafael.
