HOWARD BERNARD
A memorial service for Howard Bernard, father of Gary and Charles Bernard of Petaluma, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
Bernard, 58, died Saturday in a San Mateo hospital after an illness. A native of Washington, D.C., he had lived in San Mateo for many years.
Bernard had worked 25 years as manager of the parcel post office in San Mateo.
He also is survived by two daughters, Gay Aurrecoedhea of Fallon, Nev., and Donna Rae Moller of Brocton, Mass.; his mother, Lucy M. Bernard of Maryland; three brothers, George Bernard of Maryland, Joseph J. Bernard of Pennsylvania and William Bernard of Kaneohe, Hawaii; a sister, Mary Wananaker of San Jacinto; and 10 grandchildren.
Burial will be at the national cemetery.
