ROBERT E. HARRINGTON
Robert E. Harrington of San Rafael, a retired carpenter, died at home Saturday after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Harrington was a native of Oakland and moved to San Rafael in 1945.
He owned and operated North Bay Weatherstrip Co. in San Rafael for many years before selling out to a partner in 1980.
Mr. Harrington was a 30-year member of Carpenters union Local 35 and also was a member of the San Rafael Elks Lodge.
He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing.
His survivors include his wife, Frances Hurst Harrington of San Rafael; four daughters, Carol J. Ferguson of Colorado, Laura A. Cheatwood of Windsor, Frances R. Britton of Sonoma and Lois Harrington of Novato; three sisters, Theresa Wayland of Hayward, Rosemary Wik and Kathryn Northly, both of Nevada; a brother, Allen Beach of Louisiana; six grandsons, six granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
At his request, there will be no funeral. A memorial service will be held later for close friends and family.
The Neptune Society is handling arrangements.
The family prefers memorial gifts to Hospice of Marin.
