Death Comes To Richard Connell

An illness of about three weeks, developing from an acute attack of heart trouble, resulted Friday morning in the death of Richard R. Connell, brother of county Auditor Eugene J. Connell.

The attack which resulted in death came suddenly one morning about three weeks ago as the deceased was starting for his day’s work. A short distance from his home on Petaluma avenue, he turned and went back. It was his first intimation that he was a sufferer from the malady. He grew gradually worse until the end came.

Connell was well known in Marin county and had hosts of friends. He spent a great portion of his life here, his later employment having been with the N.W.P.R.R. on the railroad and on the ferryboats. A year or so ago he took charge of a ranch but recently came back to San Rafael.

He is survived by a sorrowing widow and four children, Joseph and Emil and Edith and Olive.

The funeral services were held Monday at St. Raphael’s church, with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery under the direction of the Edward Eden Parlors on C street. Many county officials attended the services.
