Andrew Mainhart
June 29, 1923 ~ May 30, 2002
Passed away after an illness at age 78. He was born in the Ukraine in a German Colony, to Taisa Schwarzach and Gustav Mainhart. He lived in Germany from 1942 - 1949, Chile 'til 1961, Philadelphia 'til 1963, and Marin County 'til 2002. Andy was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1955 and since then was an active member of the Mill Valley Congregation. He started an automotive business in San Rafael in 1970 - August 1995, thereupon retiring. His daughter, Julie, took over 'til 2001, when the business was sold to Darren Streckfuss and is still in operation as, "ANDY'S AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR". We will all miss him: family, friends and clients for his very outgoing personality, sense of humor, love of travel, and many great stories.... He is survived by his wife, Michele Mainhart of Corte Madera, his daughter, Julie Lucas, of Larkspur, and two granddaughters, Lindsay Lucas of El Sobrante, and Stacey Lucas of Larkspur. Memorial Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 11 Knoll Lane in Mill Valley, 415-388-1385 on June 15th at 1 p.m.
