W. J. Rueck

William J. Rueck, 75, former groundskeeper for the Indian Valley Golf Club, died yesterday at his home at 9 Boulevard Court, Novato, apparently of a heart attack.

He had been supervisor of the Big Oaks Country Club in Chicago, his native city, for more than 20 years prior to coming to California in 1955. He had worked in Monterey and was groundskeeper for the Petaluma Country Club until he joined the Indian Valley Golf Club six years ago. He retired five years ago because of failing health.

Rueck was a veteren of army service in World War I.

He was a member of the Golf Course Superintendent’s Assn.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; two step-daughters, Mrs. Edward Rosswalter of Oakland and Mrs. Harry Daughtery of Phoenix, Ariz.; a step-son, John L. Klonder of Chicago, and a sister, Miss Mary Rueck of Chicago.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato. Burial will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno. Memorial contributions to the heart fund would be appreciated by the family.
