G. O. SCHMIDT
G. Otto M. Schmidt of 205 Laurel Place, San Rafael, former manager of the Westwood Country Club in St. Louis, died yesterday in a local hospital after a long illness. He was 81 years old.
A native of Budapest, Hungary, he came to the United States in 1908 and to California nine years ago, working in San Francisco as maitre d’hotel at the Whitcomb Hotel and later at the San Francisco Stock Exchange Club.
Schmidt is survived by his wife, Anne R. Schmidt of San Rafael; two daughters, Mrs. Walter J. Kubon of San Rafael and Mrs. Isabelle Preece of Colma, and five grandchildren.
He was a member of the Delta Lodge 425, Free and Accepted Masons, of Tulsa, Okla.; St. Louis Consistory Scottish Rite Bodies of St. Louis, Mo.; Club Managers Assn. of America. and International Geneva Assn.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary, San Rafael, conducted by Marin Lodge 191 of the Masons. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
