Raymond W. Hime
Piano store owner

Raymond William Hime - long-time owner of a piano and appliance shop in downtown San Rafael – died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1993, at Novato Community hospital after a long illness. He was 90.

Mr. Hime was born in Jacksonburg, Ohio. He lived in Marin for 40 years.

He was the retail manager, owner and operator of Ray Hime Piano and Appliances on Fourth Street in San Rafael for many years. He was also an active member of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce.

After his retirement he was a business manager and counselor at Duffy’s of Myrtledale in Calistoga.

Mr. Hime is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lillie Mae Hime of San Rafael; two sons, Bill Hime of Chicago and Richard Hime of San Anselmo; a daughter, Sharon Manley of San Rafael; four sisters, Freta Damn, Marjorie Hime, Gladys Kolb and Louella Calvert, all of Ohio; a brother, Lawrence Hime, also of Ohio; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, at the Belmont Chapel, Tobias Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio.

Memorial contributions are requested to Alzheimer’s Treatment and Research, 640 Jackson Street, St. Paul, Minn., 55101-2595 and/or Duffy’s of Myrtledale, 3076Myrtledale Road, Calistoga, 94515.

Mount Tamalpais Mortuary and Cemetery handled the local arrangements.
