GIKKAS, Bette Virginia - Died peacefully at her home on Monday May 27, 2002 in Sonoma, CA at the age of 80. She was born March 6, 1922 in Flint, MI, daughter of Anton and Petroula Kafeas. Bette was a homemaker and mother, and a resident of Sonoma for the past thirteen years. Prior to that time, she lived in Grosse Pointe Park and St. Clair Shores, MI for 47 years. She was a very courageous woman who fought multiple sclerosis for 36 years and was an inspiration to her family. She was an avid card player and friend to her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her loving and devoted family, her beloved husband of 61 years, Alex P Gikkas, her daughter Diane Rehn and husband Allen Williams of Corte Madera, son Peter Gikkas and wife Vickie Hatos of San Rafael, son Alan Gikkas and wife Isabelle Marquet of Novato, and daughter Patrice Webb and husband Kenneth Webb of Gunnison, CO. Her four grandchildren Alexandra and Lisa Webb. Stephanie Gikkas and Alyssa Gikkas, also survive her. Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 10:30AM at the Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church, 1110 Dickson Dr, Ignacio, CA. Visitation Wednesday, May 29, 2002 after 4 PM at the funeral home. Trisagion Services Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment in the Valley Annex. 4th St. East and East MacArthur St., Sonoma, CA.
