DOROTHY JEAN PARKER MARTIN

A memorial service for Dorothy Jean Parker Martin of Greenbrae will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Transfiguration in San Mateo.

Mrs. Martin, a native Californian, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1987, at The Tamalpais retirement home in Greenbrae after a short illness. She was 95.

She was a descendant of Eliza Webber Denny, who came to this country on the Mayflower.

Mrs. Martin taught for 30 years at the Jean Parker School in San Francisco, when it was a private girls school. The school was named after her great aunt.

Mrs. Martin had traveled extensively throughout the world.

She was one of the original residents of The Tamalpais, moving there at its opening 17 years ago.

Her husband, Allen Martin, owned and operated the Allen Martin Orchards in Winters, Yolo County.

She moved to Greenbrae 19 years ago, having lived in San Francisco most of her life.

She is survived by two brothers, Bruce Parker of Etna, Siskiyou County; and Robert Parker of San Mateo and one sister, Phoebe Parker Kretschoner of San Francisco.

Inurnment will be private at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Shriners’ Crippled Children’s Hospital in San Francisco
