Carl J. Augusto
Carl J. Augusto, a lifelong resident of San Rafael, died Monday at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda. He was 76.
He and his wife, Marie Augusto, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1981 by renewing their vows at St. Raphael’s Church, where they had been married in 1931.
He worked for many years for H. C. Little Oil Burner Co. in San Rafael. He last worked as a gardener.
He was a member of Machinist Local #238, Native Sons of the Golden West, Mount Tamalpais Local #64 and Sons In Retirement.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Raphael’s Church. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Augusto is survived by two daughters, Rita Pickrel of Novato and Donna Cowger of Post Falls, Idaho; three sons, Carl Augusto Jr. of Novato, Michael Agusto (sic) of San Rafael and Robert Augusto of Novato; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
