STERN, Bernice -- Died October 23, 2001 in Mill Valley after a long battle with Cancer. Bernice grew up on the Lower East Side of New York. Living in Mill Valley for 40 years, she befriended all manner of people: her co-workers at Kentfield School District; the friends of her children and their parents; people she met on her walks on The Bike Path; the employees at the stores where she shopped; and recently her Doctors and Nurses. She loved them all. Known as Nana, she adored and was adored by her grandchildren: by Katie, John and Julia Stern, by Henry and Arthur Richardson and by Jamin, Claire and Lolo Agosti. Her children and her husband will miss her: Michael and Doreen Stern of Vacaville, Carol Stern and Blake Richardson of Mill Valley, Jessica Stern and Jon Agosti of Seward, Alaska and David Stern of Mill Valley.
