Robert Hunter Dies
Novatan Was PUC Aide

Robert K. Hunter, 51, Novato real estate and insurance broker, died yesterday after an illness of several weeks.

He was also legal examiner for the State Public Utilities commission and former traffic manager of the Port of San Francisco.

A graduate of San Francisco Law school, Hunter was formerly employed by the Southern Pacific Company, was assistant chief clerk with the Pacific Steamship Company and was claims investigator for the Sudden and Christenson Steamship Company and an agent for the Luckenbach Steamship Company.

Hunter was a member of Ignatian Council No. 35, Young Men’s Institute; Sierra club of San Francisco; Catholic Laymen’s Retreat association and Catholic Philosophical association. He was active in Novato civic affairs for several years.

He leaves his wife, Elana; a son, Robert E. Hunter Jr., a student at Notre Dame; a brother, Donald, of San Francisco, and Walton; sisters, Carol Hunter, Mrs. Mary Parry and Mrs. Frank Beeler.

A Requiem Mass will be offered at St. Ignatius church, San Francisco, Thursday, 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of J. C. O’Connor Company, San Francisco.
