Apparent Heart Attack Kills Driver

A 67-year-old San Anselmo woman was dead on arrival at San Rafael General Hospital at 9:50 a.m. today after she apparently suffered a heart attack while driving east on Fourth Street in downtown San Rafael.

Henrietta Ella Faber of 103 San Francisco Boulevard, San Anselmo, was seen to stiffen and then go limp as her car went through the intersection of Fourth and C Streets.

Raymond Edwards, 27, of 245 Union Street, San Rafael, told police the woman “appeared to be having a seizure” when her car swerved sideways and struck two cars parked in front of the Kaehler-Farrar Building.

Asst. County Coroner William C. Bradley reported the death apparently was due to natural causes. An autopsy will be performed, he said.

San Rafael Police Officer Gil F. Frietas said no injuries which might have resulted from the collision were visible.
