GEORGE HOWARD

George A. Howard, 92-year-old retired businessman, died yesterday in a local convalescent hospital, one month after his grandson, Terrence Howard of San Rafael, brought him to Marin from his home in Illinois.

He had been in good health until suffering a heart attack Friday.

Howard was born in Illinois and lived there all his life except for the past month. He operated theaters and finance businesses during his working career.

He was a member of the Monmouth, Ill., Elks Lodge.

His wife, Georgia E. Howard, died a month ago in Illinois.

In addition to his grandson, he is survived by a granddaughter and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Thursday at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Ill. Burial will be in the Monmouth Memorial Park.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the father of the late Jack H. Howard, grandfather of Glenda Toler of Germany and Terrence Howard of San Rafael. Local arrangements by Keaton’s Mortuary, 1022 E Street, San Rafael, Calif.
