WILLIAM C. HEFFERNAN
A funeral for William C. Heffernan of Novato was held Friday at the Valley Memorial Park Chapel in Novato. Mr. Heffernan, 70, died at his home Wednesday after an illness.
He was a native of San Francisco. He moved to Marin in 1971.
Mr. Heffernan, a member of the Pacific Maritime Service, worked as a supervisor for the Marine Terminal in San Francisco for 42 years.
He was a member of the Indian Valley Men’s Golf Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Novato Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Heffernan of Novato; a daughter, Laurel Heffernan of Los Angeles; two sons, William Heffernan and Ernest Heffernan, both of Novato; two sisters, Anabel Braun of San Francisco and Eunice Yarbough of Tarzana, Los Angeles County; and four grandchildren.
He was buried at Valley Memorial Park.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Fund or Hospice of Marin.
