MILDRED REED

Funeral for Mildred V. Reed of Altadena, Los Angeles County, mother of Myrna Reed of San Anselmo, was held last week in Whittier.

Mrs. Reed, 68, died April 19 at a rest home in Altadena after a long illness. She was the widow of Edmund Reed, a retired Los Angeles fireman.

Mrs. Reed was a past state department president of t he Military Order of the Purple Heart and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Disable American Veterans Auxiliary and California Firemen’s Auxiliary.

She was a native of Denver, Colo., and had been a resident of California for 66 years. She had been a frequent visitor to Marin.

Surviving, besides her daughter, are a nephew, W. Stanley Fredlund of Burbank; and two nieces, Betty Powers of Williamsburg, Va., and Muriel Sullivan of Twenty Nine Palms, San Bernardino County.

The family prefers that contributions be to the American Cancer Society.
