Marin Sisters’ Mother Dies In S.F.

Mrs. Paolina Franchini, 77-year-old mother of Mrs. Concetta Barsotti and Mrs. Fulvia Mennucci of San Anselmo, died at her San Francisco home after an illness of about one month. She had been ailing for several years.

A native of Italy, she had come to San Francisco as a child of three and had lived there ever since. Before the earthquake and fire of 1906, she and her late husband, Basilio Franchini, owned one of the largest bakeries in San Francisco.

Mrs. Franchini also leaves a son, Mario Franchini, and a daughter, Norma Baldacci, both in San Francisco. She was the grandmother of four and great grandmother of two.

Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Chapel of Valente, Marini, Perata and Company, 649 Green street, San Francisco, followed by High Mass at SS Peter and Paul’s church, San Francisco. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.

Mrs. Franchini belonged to SS Peter and Paul’s church in San Francisco as well as to other Catholic societies and orgnizations.
