Larkspur Baby Dies On Way To Hospital
Kimberly Busse, 9-month-old infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Busse, 66 Hillcrest avenue, Larkspur, died this morning while being rushed to Marin General hospital.
Marin county coroner Frank Keaton said the cause was apparently strangulation but he would not know until later today.
The child’s mother, Helen, noticed something seemed to be wrong with the child’s breathing about 7:15 o’clock this morning and called the doctor.
A neighbor took the baby to the hospital to meet the doctor after artificial respiration failed to bring a response.
Keaton said there had been 10 such deaths in the county last year when infants died of strangulation caused by regurgitation. A 3-months-old Corte Madera boy died earlier this month of the same cause.
The child’s father, who is employed in San Francisco, was en route there when the tragedy occurred.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Keaton’s mortuary, San Rafael.
