WILLIAM PINKEY, 63, Elks Secretary, Dies In S.F.

Funeral services for William Pinkey, 63, secretary of the San Rafael Elks for the past six years, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in San Rafael. He died Saturdy at a San Francisco hospital after a short illness.

A native of Pennsylvania, Pinkey served in both world wars and was a finance sergeant at Hamilton Air Force base until about six years ago when he retired and moved to San Rafael. He lived with his wife, Grace, at 111 Irwin street, San Rafael.

He was secretary of the San Rafael Elks Lodge, member of the White Pass (Alaska) Lodge of F. & A.M., Marin chapter Royal Arch Masons, San Rafael chapter Easter Star, San Anselmo post American Legion, Marin Voiture No. 1112 Forty and Eight, and the San Francisco-Oakland Sourdoughs club.

Besides his widow, Pinkey leaves two sons, Navy Lt. William Pinkey Jr., and Army Capt. Vernon Pinkey; and a brother, Edward, of San Francisco.

Funeral services at St. Paul’s Episcopal church Thursday will be followed by interment at Golden Gate national Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of Harry M. Williams mortuary, San Rafael.
