GEORGE R. SILVEY
A private service will be held for George R. Silvey, 61, a San Anselmo resident for about 25 years.
He died Monday at his home after a long illness.
A native of San Francisco, he was raised in Mill Valley, San Rafael and Fairfax. He graduated from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1938.
He was a plumbing contractor for 40 years. He had operated his own business, George the Plumber, from his home since 1967.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Silvey of San Anselmo; a son, Robert G. Silvey of Santa Rosa; four brothers, Roy Silvey of Medford, Ore., Richard Silvey of Novato, William Silvey of New Hope, Pa., and Robert Silvey of Santa Rosa; and a grandson.
Arrangements are being handled by Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. The family prefers memorial gifts to the Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, Suite 6, San Rafael.
