RUSSELL HILL

Memorial service for Russell S. Hill Jr. of Santa Venetia, a Marin resident for nine years and formerly a chef at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Marin Fellowship of Unitarians, Terra Linda.

Hill died unexpectedly Tuesday at his home, 1175 Adrian Way. He was 46.

A San Francisco native, Hill served as a baker aboard a merchant vessel during the Vietnam war. After moving to Marin, he worked as a chef at the Meadow Club and at the Holiday Inn in San Rafael.

He was a member of Big Brothers of Marin and the Marin Fellowship of Unitarians.

Survivors include his wife, Judith, and four sons, Karl, Christopher and Aaron, all of the home address, and Russell S. Hill III of San Diego, and a daughter, Renee Hill of Los Angeles; his mother, Helen Mouton of San Francisco; six sisters, Helen Marlowe, Myrna McDonald, Ella Hunter, Grace Montgomery, Sylvia Craine and Adele Foster, all of San Francisco, and two brothers, Ronald Hill of San Francisco and Walter Hill of Los Angeles.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to the Ministers’ Discretionary Fund at the Marin Fellowship of Unitarians.
