Ellen ‘Pat’ O’Connell
A private service for Ellen M. “Pat” O’Connell of San Rafael was held Wednesday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. Mrs. O’Connell died Sunday, Nov. 13, 1988. She was 81.
A San Rafael native, she attended Dominican School for 12 years before becoming a homemaker.
She and her husband, Thomas O’Connell, moved back to San Rafael in 1986 after living in Anchor Bay, Mendocino County, for several years.
A music lover who often attended the symphony, Mrs. O’Connell was involved for years in Thursday Musical, a group of music lovers who regularly gathered to hear and discuss musical performances.
Mrs. O’Connell also is survived by two sons, Thomas O’Connell Jr. of Santa Rosa and John O’Connell of St. Helena; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Burial was to be today in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: she was the wife of Thomas Carson O’Connell, mother of John E. O’Connell and Thomas C. O’Connell Jr., sister of the late Dr. Edmond Butler, Francis, William and John Butler.
