KILLED AT LAGRANGE

The following are the particulars of the accidental death at LaGrange yesterday morning: Frank De Selve and Henry Short were two miners at the Speaker drift mining claim, one and one half miles from LaGrange. The men went to work at 8 o'clock Sunday night and were to quit at 4 o'clock Monday morning, at which time they were to awaken the men who were to start to work at 4 a.m. No one arounsed the men and they did not reach the mine until 5:30 o'clock, when they found both men caved on 300 feet from the surface. Short was piioned but his face was uncovered and he was thus enabeled to breathe. De Selve was completely covered and was dead when dug out. The cave was caused by the timbers in the tunnel giving way.

The verdict of the Coroner's jury was accidential death, De Selve was aged about 26 years and was a native of Mexico. His parents reside at San Rafael, but they telegraphed that they were too poor to have the remains shipped there, and the funeral took place at La Granage this morning at 9 o'clock.
