Frank Baumgardner

Requiem Mass for Frank A. Baumgardner, 79, of Novato, retired West Coast division sales manager of Liggett and Meyers Tobacco Co., was offered today at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato.

Baumgardner died Friday at his home, 369 Alameda del Prado, after a long illness. He had resided in Novato for 14 years.

A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Baumgardner came to California after service in the Army which began in World War I. He left Army service with the rank of captain in 1929.

He was a member of both St. Raphael’s and Our Lady of Loretto chapters of Knights of Columbus, of the Portland, Ore. lodge of Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, and of American Legion Post 1 of San Francisco.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine.

Entombment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. Mrs. Baumgardner requested that memorials be contributions to the Marist Fathers at St. Peter Chanel Seminary in San Rafael.
