MRS. LAWRENCE

Catherine Mary Lawrence of San Anselmo died yesterday at a local convalescent home after a long illness.

Mrs. Lawrence, 92, of 199 San Francisco Boulevard, had lived in Marin County 25 years and for many years had been organist at St. Anselm’s Church, San Anselmo.

She was a native of St. Louis and lived in Tacoma, Wash., prior to moving to Marin. Her husband, Leo E. Lawrence, who died in 1968, was owner and president of Tacoma House Wreckers.

Mrs. Lawrence was a graduate of the Beethoven Conservatory of Music in St. Louis, where she majored in voice and piano. She also played the violin and composed music, and taught voice and music and was a church organist while living in Tacoma.

She was a member of the Ladies Sodality and the Altar Society of St. Anselm’s Church, St. Michael’s Cell of the Blue Army, Catholic Order of Forresters, Third Order of St. Francis and the Third Order of Mary at St. Peter Chanel Seminary in San (_smudge_).

Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anselm’s Church. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.

Rosary will be celebrated at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.

Spiritual bouquets, Masses or donations to Catholic missions are preferred by the family.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: she was the mother of Mrs. Mary Snead, Paul A. Lawrence, both of San Anselmo, Miss Theresa Lawrence of Sacramento and William Lawrence of Tacoma, Wash. She was also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
