David L. Gross

Private funeral for David L. Gross, a sales representative, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma.

Gross, 51, died Saturday at a hospital after a short illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., but had been a reared in Southern California.

Gross served in the Navy during World War II and after his discharge earned a degree from University of Southern California.

Gross had worked 25 years as a sales representative for Coates and Clark Thread Co. He had moved to Petaluma from Anaheim seven years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, Matthew D. Gross; a daughter, Laura Gross, all of Petaluma; his mother, Claire Gross of Long Beach; a sister, Mary Cavanaugh of Los Angeles; and a brother, Harry Gross of Long Beach.

Private inurnment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the intensive care unit at Hillcrest Hospital or to a favorite charity.
