Guest At Picnic Topples 40 Feet From Tree To Die
Falling from the top of a large tree in Fairfax Park, Arnoldo Mancini, 40 years old, a fruit vender of San Francisco, suffered a fractured skull and spine which resulted in his death.
Mancini had climbed into the tree to watch the recital of the Accordian Club, and disregarding warnings of chief of Police Andrew Peri and Deputy Sheriff Leslie Tracy, remained aloft.
The officers cleared the group of onlookers from beneath the tree just a few moments before Mancini plunged to his death.
The dead man is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elmora Mancini, and four children, Joseph, James, Vera and Martha, who were all witnesses to the fatal fall.
