Fears Blindness, Man Slashes Wrists, Dies
James R. Renick Suicide Victim
Fear of blindness caused James R. Renick, 63, of 146 Willow Avenue, Corte Madera to commit suicide, it is believed. He died Saturday night at Ross General Hospital where he was rushed when he was found in bed with both wrists slashed.
Renick, who was retired, resided with his sister, Mrs. Hattie J. Russell. Her son, W. A. Russell, 15 Walnut Ave., Mill Valley, who came to take Renick to San Francisco to see an eye specialist, found the wounded man. His arteries had been severed by a safety razor blade. Dr. L. L. Robinson was called but it was too late to save the man.
The remains are at the chapel of Jenness and McElroy, San Anselmo. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
