Carmelita Graves
Carmelita C. Graves, 82, granddaughter of a pioneering Marin County family, died today in a local hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Graves was a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lucas, owners of much of the area now known as Lucas Valley. Her late mother, Mrs. Patrick Cadogan, was the former Alice Mary Lucas.
A native of California, Mrs. Graves made her home with her sister, Mrs. Ernest T. Langdale, at 215 Laurel Place in San Rafael.
During her working life she was a laboratory technician with a San Francisco doctor. Her husband, Charles Graves, died about 12 years ago.
She is survived by her sister.
Requiem Mass will be offered Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Church, San Rafael. Funeral will be from Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael at 9:15 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the sister of the late John Lucas Cadogan and Anthony Cadogan.
